The Sea Hunters : True Adventures with Famous Shipwrecks by Clive Cussler
Reader Reviews Light reading for history buffs, April 8, 2003 Reviewer: dutch-traveller from Amsterdam Netherlands In his spare time Clive Cussler, the renowned author of adventure stories starring Dirk Pitt, hunts for historic ships that went down at sea or on rivers, by the hand of nature or man. In this first book he describes the explorations of the volunteers of NUMA to trace those ships. The ships are mainly 19th and 20th century warships. In about ten short stories he first very vividly describes what may have happened on board of the boats based on historical facts combined with fantasy and then the tedium and excitement of searching for and finding the ships (plus one train engine). Clive Cussler has a very funny style of writing which makes this book light reading, even though content-wise it is mainly for the really historically interested. --This text refers to the Paperback edition
