Report for Murder by Val McDermid
Reader Reviews New Edition of Lindsay Gordon's debut!, May 4, 1998 Reviewer: An Amazon.com Customer This new edition of Lindsay's Gordon's reprint is as spine-tingling and provocative today as it was when first published in England 11 years ago by The Women's Press, Ltd. Lindsay, self-styled lesbian socialist feminis journalist, is invited to a posh girls' boarding school to report on its fundraising activities. While there, a murder is committed, plus Lindsay meets the beautiful Cordelia Brown. Thus, as you can see, the sparks begin to fly, in more ways than one. One of the most interesting aspects of this novel is its take on class relations and tensions in English society. If you like contemporary mysteries in which the author writes with a clear political angle, you will *love* this book. Plus, Val McDermid is one of the finest writers writing today.
