The Haunted Lady by Mary Roberts Rinehart
Reader Reviews 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful: Not as good as I expected, July 3, 2000 Reviewer: killer_b_books from Springfield I don't want to give away any key plot points, so I'll just say that I felt that Nurse Hilda Adams (aka Miss Pinkerton) did an awfully slow job of analyzing the evidence presented to her. I really expected a much tighter mystery, or at least more compelling writing. This novel read more like something tossed together to meet a deadline or satisfy a nagging publisher. I would actually give this book 2 1/2 stars, not three.
