Lord of the Silent: A Novel of Suspense by Elizabeth Peters

Perdue from Amsterdam, the Netherlands As I have stated in my reviews of other entries in this series, this is one of my top 3 series to read. I have truly enjoyed the adventures of Amelia Peabody and family. This book, at least for me, was a change of pace in that there is quite a bit less action in it than previous books; I think Amelia uses her umbrella as a weapon only once throughout the entire book. And, there is less, in fact hardly any, attention paid to the excavation work being done. Having said that, there is still plenty to interest the reader as always. Approximately half of the book is devoted solely to Ramses and Nefret which was nice for a change and the mystery is intriguing as always. Just a couple more books in this series to read and then I will have wait for the annual publication of the next one and the next and the next....
