This is pure horror. In few pages, Poe is able to describe a colorful castle in a nation afflicted by a plague. In this castle, the ruler of the kingdom enclosed his best friends and allies to escape the plague, and he throws a masked ball. During the ball, a very unusual guest is going to make his appearance... This story is set in a very, very dark atmosphere, and yet Poe describe the castle and it's rooms as full of colors and life, creating an interesting contrast. This is a story about how no one can escape somethings in life, no matter what they do and how poerful they are. So, don't try to escape this short and nice story. Grade 8.6/10
